What’s the best time to have a portrait session?
I'm a natural light photographer, so for the best lighting possible, sessions are outdoors, an either half an hour after sunrise or about 1 to 2 hours before sunset (depending on the session type). These times are referred to as the "golden hour" and it's the most flattering. If it's a cloudy or overcast day, harsh sunlight won't be a factor so the session can be anytime

What if the weather forecast calls for rain?
I monitor the hourly forecast a few days before your session and keep in touch with you to determine if we need to reschedule. It’s usually best to wait until the night before or morning to decide to reschedule since the forecast can change at the last minute. If it ends up raining during our session, we’ll try again another day

What types of sessions do you offer?
I offer full portrait sessions for families, children, seniors, birthdays, boudoirs, engagements, and weddings all year round with individuals and a combination of posed and candid.

Sessions are outdoors in the SC area. I love to take advantage of the natural beauty of our area. For most sessions, structures, and shade areas where the light is divine are always my first choice. There are great options all around, so even if I've never photographed at a specific spot before, I'm always up for exploring a new spot together! There will be a travel fee applied starting at $25 each 50 mile I travel, which will be applied to the invoice at booking.

How do I get started?
To secure an appointment, a signed contract, along with the $50 nonrefundable retainer are required.

When do I have to pay my balance?
All sessions fees are due in full either on or before your scheduled appointment date/time. Final payments can be made using the same options available for the retainer payment.

How long will it take before I can review my images?
After your session, your gallery will be ready for review 2 weeks after your session in an online private gallery. Wedding images will be available 6 weeks after your wedding day. If you require the images to be completed prior scheduled time. A rush fee will be charged.
​One final note about working with me
I like my sessions to be laid back and fun! Being in front of the camera can be a scary thing so I like to keep it as casual as possible. Although I do some posed shots, I love candid photography and just being able to capture a natural moment. I love it when my clients bring new ideas to the table so feel free to share your ideas with me and bring along any props you would like to use during the shoot. This session is all about you and I want each photo to convey your spirit. I look forward to hearing from you!

Do I have the ability to print my images?
Yes, we want you to display your memories, so you will have printing rights provided. Photos by Octavia retains the copyright to all images, which means I hope you love them enough that they should not be edited or otherwise altered
